The Grinnell Railway Express model railroad club's mission is to promote the pastime of scale modeling, primarily the hobby of model railroading. The club wishes to become a community asset, one which will bring members of the Grinnell community together in an enterprise that is educational and invigorating. The club also would like to create a community tourism destination, some place visitors to Grinnell will be able to see some of the communities railroad history in scale model form. The club is located in a building that is provided by the Mayflower Retirement Community.
